I had seen this fim only once, many years ago - and was very pleased to buy it on ebay. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the superb acting of Meryl Street and Robert de Niro was an added bonus.

I JUST LOVE THIS FILM. NICE TO SEE DENIRO IN A ROMANTIC ROLE AND PAIRED UP WITH MERYL STREEP JUST MAKES IT ALL THE MORE ROMANTIC. THE FEELINGS WITHIN THIS FILM ARE SO REALISTIC, YOU CAN REALLY FEEL EXACTLY WHAT EACH OF THEM ARE GOING THROUGH. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. EVEN IF YOU LIKE GANGSTER MOVIES YOU SHOULD STILL HAVE THIS IN YOUR COLLECTION. PURELY FOR HIS ACTING SKILLS IS A GOOD ENOUGH REASON.

I love this film. Everyone is used to Robert being in hard gangster type films. Here he is just a normal guy in a marriage he thought was ok. Same as Meryl was, until they meet by chance and just seem to know there is something there.
The scene when he finally kisses her and tells her he loves her makes your heart melt. At the end of the film you are sat on the edge of your seat wondering will they, won't they. It's not a film the young ones will go for. It's for us middle aged romantics. I know I'll be watching this over and over again.
