This album is full of incredible music. It is raw, the songs are strong, the playing is masterful and the whole thing sounds like all the greatest ingredients have been poured into a pot and put on an album. All the players deserve a credit including the understated but utterly tasteful newish boy Mick Taylor and the song writing genius of Keith, but for me Jagger is the star of this particular show. HIs singing is mean, dirty, raw, soulful and poetic all at the same time, and the lyrics jump out at you when you listen. Forgive him all his rock errors because this is complete singer/songwriter genius. I cannot encourage music fans enough to wallow in this album.
exile on main street is a great album!!dont let anybody tell you otherwise.in my opinion, the only stones album which tops it is sticky fingers.72 woz a great year for them.the album has got everything you could want from the stones.its got the upbeat r n b rockers, the slow, heartbrocken blues and just enough country twang n whisky soaking to keep every fan happy.highley recomended!!!
