My daughter loved this film because of all the animals... Its not as good as the first one but its ok. and it kept my 5year old quiet for a while!!!lol

Evan is a US congressman with a wife and kids. One day he receives a visit from God who tells him he has to build an ark in preparation for a great flood, just as Noah had done...
This is a very enjoyable family film. The film moves on from the manic character and story in "Bruce Almighty". Evan does not become "Almighty" but instead is a figure of fun for building an Ark. The film's central theme is "faith". It gently poses questions over who or what deserves our trust and faith. Morgan Freeman is again superb as God, it's the pace at which he speaks that makes him so good.
I rate this film 9/10

Evan Almighty is the sequel to Bruce Almighty (2003). In that film Evan Baxter was a coworker of Bruce and more or less a rival wanting the same promotion. In this part Bruce (played by Jim Carrey) is left out and Evan is left to carry the torch instead. The story carries on without a hitch. Evan has been promoted, has left the news presentation business and has moved to another area with his family. Little does he know that God has a task for him.
So far the only link between the two films is the appearance of two actors ad their respective roles. Strange enough this is more or less the only real linkup between the two. The two films are very different. Where BA was more or less the story of an angry man getting the power and using them for his own good EA is the story of a man getting the power and doing what he is asked. Both lean toward the comical track though.
Personally I found BA a fair bit better than EA. Although there are some good laughs in this one there are too many spots where there is nothing to laugh about and the speed just leaves the film altogether. The added moral story isn't one that was needed either - it just adds a cliché that doesn't have anything to offer except just being there and that's a shame.
All in all, 5 out of 10 dancing Gods

its a secual to bruce almighty but its so much better than the fist almighty film . with an all new cast and morgan freeman as god its a great family film . evan is told by god that he needs too build an ark .like in the bible he builds it with his three sons and his wife .
fantastic film would recomend it to anyone.

This was a fab sequel to Bruce Almighty, which I also thought was a top film! Had me laughing pretty much all the way through it. I even got teary in one part!! Steve carell is an amazing actor, and will have you in stitches throughout. Morgan Freeman...well spks for himself really....genious! If you enjoyed the first film, then definately give this a go...you won't be disappointed!

This has been a fantastic and funny film. We as the whole family really enjoyed it and having a very strong christian faith we thought it gave a lot of very possitive messages and a very good representation off what we believe God is like! It made a welcome change from the usual negative messages that a lot of films these days give.

Evan Almighty (DVD)Wasn't sure what to expect after seeing a mixed bunch of reviews for this on other sites. I have to say that i am glad that i watched it myself.
It is a very funny, clever film with lots of interconnecting events that lead to some hilarious moments. This film is great fun for all of the family, well worth a look!

Evan Almighty is a comedy for all ages that stars Steve Carell as junior Congressman Evan Baxter, whose wish to "change the world" is heard by none other then God. When God appears with the perplexing request to build an ark, Evan is sure he is losing it. But soon mysterious deliveries of wood and tools are being dropped on his doorstep, animals of every shape and size are flocking to him tow by two, and his self-absorbed life goes from overnight success to almighty mess!
