This has to be the classic Dyson. It is light and so powerful it will suck the chrome off a trailer-hitch.
When I got it I vacuumed a carpet that I had just vacuumed with my other machine and the dust canister showed a bunch of crap that had been left in the carpet from before.
I especially recommend the Dyson with the rotating brushes which power grit out of carpets.
As a discerning gentleman, I would buy another one as long as I don't have to pay 'Dyson' prices (ie. new price). Mine is a putrid flourescent green so it will never get lost.
Pros - Excellent suction - no bags etc Copes with copious quantities of pet hair. Easier to manouver in a tight space than an upright Easy to find parts and accessories for.
Cons Like most cylinders - untidy to store. On board tools stored on the hose - quite annoying but ccan be removed I suppose.
Nice and light, whips up dog hair and dust. Seeing what you have sucked up appeals to me as it feels like an achievement, but I know some people would rather not see it. Only buy this if you are prepared to have it serviced regularly, blaming the machine is like blaming your car for needing oil. Keep the turbo head free of hair and grit by vacuuming it with the crevice tool. Time spent on the machine is not wasted, that is what makes the thing work properly.
I decided to buy the DC05 because I had used one before and it suited the job perfectly that I had for it (cleaning out my range cooker) because I could wash the filter after use. I love the Dyson range - I have another Dyson that I use around the house.
This is a genuine dyson part. Priced well. I bought it because it was a lot cheaper than the shops.Even with postage costs it was still cheaper. I would recomend anyone to the dyson doctor.
