Having recently returned from a holiday in Venice I bought this DVD because when I saw it many years ago at the cinema I remembered the stunning scenery.The film is a cinema classic and the role played by Dirk Bogarde is one of his best.Watch this film--you won't regret it.

Dark gothic and wonderful movie, filmed in mysterious Venice. The sad disintegration of the composer in his passion for a beautiful boy.
