David Gilmour - Remember That Night - 2 disc Special Ed
Review created: 30/01/08(updated 02/02/08)

This must be the definitive David Gilmour, a masterpiece of musical art. At last he has reached the pinacle of his career, (or has he?) and produced some of the very best rock music ever. I think he'd be hard pressed to top this. Featuring his latest album On An Island, Gilmours stage event at the Royal Albert Hall is tinged with much of the paraphernalia associated with his Pink Floyd heritage, although pigs, planes and pyrotechnics above the audience are not displayed. (Health and Safety I suspect). Together with special guests David Crosby, Graham Nash, David Bowie and Robert Wyatt, Gilmour puts on a magnificent concert and includes tracks from The Wall, Echos, Wish You Were Here, The Division Bell, and of course The Dark Side of the Moon. His latest album On An Island brings out a personal style with reminiscence of his past which is greatly enhanced by his individuality on many of the tracks. Disc One contains 23 tracks, all live from the Royal Albert Hall and include Breathe, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Coming Back To Life, High Hopes, Wish You Were Here, Arnold Layne, Comfortably Numb, and all the tracks from the album On An Island.
The second disc is full of short documentaries from the making of On An Island, and sessions from Abbey Road, The BBC Mermaid Theatre, Vienna, Gdansk and loads more.
If like me, you are a Pink Floyd Fan, or if you like Pink Floyd but never really got it under your skin, get yourself a copy of Remember That Night. You won't be disappointed.
