An emotionally moving film. I bought it because Julie Christie had been nominated for an award, and there had been a lot of positive discussion about it on Newsnight.
It is a powerful story of love, compassion, understanding, forgiveness, and commitment in the true sense of the word ( for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health til death us do part)
I thought it was a brilliant thought provoking movie which makes one seriously consider the quality of ones own relationships and how one would cope in the role of either the carer or the patient.
I saw one of my very proud Auntys go through this illness and felt really sorry for her as she lost her memory, took on a completely different personality, became very aggressive and somewhat crude.
A real tear jerker for many different reasons. A must see movie!!
This is one of those movies were your waiting for something really scary to happen...you have to wait for the end for a little bit a scariness to happen, worth a watch when there's nothing much on.
If you like Sixth Sense or the village you will love this film, It keeps you in suspense and is a great edge of your seat film. Only downside is you will only watch films like this only the once as it lose's its suspense. It boasts a great cast and is definitely worth a watch !!!
