Dallas - Series 1 And 2 (DVD 2004)

It was quick to arrive and was exactly as described, as I haven't finished watching them yet I don't have a lot to say about them.

Am so glad that i ordered this was a massive fan of dallas when it was on tv, but never did know how the series first started, so its great to watch from the beginning.

I bought it out of pure nostalgia. I dont think there has been another soap quite like it. Of course , We all love to hate JR DONT WE , Or do we!.
Never did see the first series, Which is why I purchased this set. Mum likes it too.

I loved Dallas when it was on the television. I hadn't actually watched the series until the "Who Shot JR?" series 3 climax was heightened and discussed at length by Terry Wogan on his chat show and started interviewing the major actors of the show. It became one of the highest watched episodes. The bookmakers even started taking odds on it so I watched the re-run of series 3 and the actual episode but sadly by the time that was shown and I'd worked out who had pulled the trigger, they had stopped taking bets but I was hooked and watched all the series after that.

Once they started bringing the show out on DVD after what had seemed an awfully long time, I wanted to get them as part of my collection so I could watch and enjoy them once again. At first they were too expensive but as time went past and I now had some spare cash burning a hole in my pocket, I decided to buy them. I have already got about half way through the first 2 series and have bought series 3, although the others are still going for a rather high price but hopefully by the time I've watched the first 3 series again, they will become more affordable. However it's a GREAT series and I'm really enjoying watching them all over again.

So that's why I decided to start buying Dallas and I'm glad I did. If you enjoyed the show, why not consider buying them yourself and enjoy re-living the high life in Dallas once more ... or the low, depending on whether you upset JR or not! :)

This one series i grew up on. and VICTORIA PRINCIPLE is still in my memory, anyway the DALLAS series was an success who shot JR became a new story and a betting rush, this has to be a DVD in your collection, i have to admit some of the stories became stories over and over again, the rich tycoon oil barons, ended up running the show of the county and the states, well in the series it did! The women were beautiful and without being sexist the men were asked to be the centerfold, this series became a hit and why because hit had all the trappings of wealth and fantasy all in one.

The series tried to make a comeback but failed and did a one off series of KNOTTS LANDING one too look out for. This a real 5 reason this series will be repeated again and again on DVD its a must buy!

i was on ebay an decided to look up some old series i used to watch to see if they where available an i come across dallas so i decided to start buying it from the beginning because i love the programme an there is nothing i can honestly say that i dislike about this series its just brillant

I have many reminicences of sitting with the family watching Dallas. It stood out from the cheesier soaps of its time, though it was cheesier than the cheesiest cheese football. I wanted to re-watch the series from the beginning so I ordered the season 1&2 set. Unfortunately one of the disks was corrupted on one side and three episodes were missing. As I would have had to pay the postage back it was pointless returning (note to Ebay - for faulty goods it is often cheaper to throw them away than return them - surely a policy of refunding postage both ways on faulty products should be enforced). I decided that to make sure I had a full collection I was willing to order the whole set a second time. This time, although the description claimed to be the whole series 1&2, it was as shown in Germany and five of the original episodes were missing. Unfortunately one of these just happens to be one of the three I was already missing. It might be a case of third time lucky but I'm not bidding a third time for what is now just one missing episode - I shall just have to live without. It makes me cautious though about buying anything DVD/Video costing more than a tenner because I've encountered so many vid/DVD faults or knockoffs(although I have recently been tempted from my rule by the Babylon 5 Universe box set which is fab). But to get back to Dallas - it is still a fab series and much more fun than any of the dingy modern soaps. I'm certainly going to be getting other series as time goes by.

what a classic show. finally brought out on dvd for everyone to reminess everyones favourite southern american show. who shot jr? find out with these digitally remastered dvds.

Loved this series all those years ago and want to watch it again, I will buy all the dvd's of the whole series.

Well presented box set of 5 double sided dvds. Good quality recording, of 999 minutes of must see tv!
I couldnt help but bid on this set, when I saw it on ebay, but wondered if I was remembering Dallas with rose tinted spectacles, and was it going to look very old fashioned & out dated?
However, I was not dissapointed, it was every bit as good as I remembered it. The bonus was I had never seen the first few episodes, so was able to watch the Ewing story unfold from the beginning. Somehow it didnt look old fashioned, & I was soon glued to the TV!
This is pure quality, the only problem is tearing yourself away from it! I found myself saying "I'll watch just one more episode tonight" & then going on to watch three as I couldnt turn it off.
I am now bidding on season 3!
