This is very good ram and if you purchase the Corsair cooling fans that fit over the top of it you are able to overclock the ram even more. I have had many brands and speeds of ram and have been a fan of OCZ for a few years now. I had OCZ platinum ram in my Quad core but was not able to overclock it past 4ghz from 2.4ghz stock speed. I had a feelign it was the ram letting my down and the cpu had more left to go, so i took the chance and purchased the corsair RAM. I was right this then allowed me to brak past the 4ghz barrier. I would give it a 10/10
Read a number of reveiws about spending more on quality ram if building a gaming rig, so i invested in the corsair dominator 2x1GB & have not been dissapointed in my purchase Also looks good in my case with the heat dissipaters
Problems when added to my existing system in order to achieve 4GB memory capacity. 4 sticks of 1GB cause system to behave weird. Asus Striker Extreme 1504 Beta Bios. Managed to have it stable at 1066Mhz DDR2 but after powering down and on again the system would not always boot. Oh well story of my life...
Excellent memory, and of course they are fully SLI ready.
After some stability problems I decided to follow the technical advices posted on the Corsair forums and reduce the clock speed down to 800mhz and reduce the voltages to 2.1v to improve lifespan. The RAM lasted me 9 months before terminal failure and replacement by my local PC outlet under warranty, makes me wonder how long they would have lasted at full clock speed and 2.2volts !
Speeds and stability with the replacement set has been reliable with no problems, I returned to the fully standard settings.
My system is on typicaly for 16 hours a day every day, for work and play.
