Keanu Reeves shows what a versatile actor he is. Great storyline,. not too Hollywood predictable, loved Tilda Swinton. Excellent, really enjoyed it.

This is nothing more than a good entertaining film. Its not realistic or meant to be based on true facts.

Acting and script is for the most part good. Special effects are good. Story is interesting. Parts such as the spear of destiny are good stories to tell, although could have been more background on this.

If you like things such as End of days, Underworld then this is down your street.

Great film, worth buying... watch it and see... Mr Reeves makes another great film....................................................................................................................................................................watch it

Based upon a comic book character, Constantine is a demon hunter and 'fallen angel'. This is an excellent film and follows Reeves characters attempts to gain his pass to enter heaven when he dies, again! Having supernatural powers which drove him to suicide and being brought back from the dead in an ambulance have placed Constantine in the unique position of being able to see, hunt and kill the servants of hell, Weiss, also cursed with powers is being pursued as a gateway for the devils son to walk on Earth and its down to Reeves to stop him.

Dreadfully flawed and with a muddled story line, "Constantine" is nevertheless worth watching, for its occasional profound and intense beauty, and its visions of hell and its denizens, which anyone who believes that forces of evil exist and influence our world will find fascinating. Loosely based on characters from the Hellblazer comics, the script is very interesting in parts, but the audio is abysmal. The dialog sounds as if it is coming from an underwater tunnel, and I had to watch the film with subtitles. Also, this is a film that begs to be seen several times, to make some sense of the muddle.
The cast is excellent, and I have always been partial to Keanu Reeves, who as John Constantine, a man dying of lung cancer, who can see, and has walked beyond this dimension, is very good in his own peculiar way. I can't imagine anyone else of his generation playing the part. As he says of the cat in the film, he's "half in, half out," and Reeves also has that quality, of being in the world, but not quite of it. Rachel Weisz, who teamed with Reeves in the far less interesting 1996 "Chain Reaction," is both Angela, a Los Angeles detective, and her twin sister Isabel. She looks gorgeous, and gives a sensitive, lovely performance. Others in the cast that stand out are Tilda Swinton as Gabriel, and Shia LaBeouf, as Chas, Constantine's eager apprentice.

This is the feature directorial debut of Francis Lawrence, who has previously done music videos, and he certainly has an eye for bizarre imagery. The cinematography by Philippe Rousselot is terrific, and much of what is worthwhile in this film is due to him. It is hard to rate this film, as it is, like the battle of good and evil in the story, a mixture of opposites. Total running time is 121 minutes, it is rated R for "violence and demonic images," but is comparatively mild in language and has no in-between the sheets action. The DVD extra is 18 minutes of deleted scenes.

Brilliant film. Thought provoking! Good action but must say I always thought that Angel Gabriel was a boy!!
I brought it because it was recommended as a horror that wasn't.
A film we will re-watch often but maybe not for the younger ones quite yet!

I bought this item as I had heard a lot about it but had never seen it.The plot was captivating,the acting was great and the twists and turns kept me fully gripped from start to finish.Great movie and great concept totally recommend

Reeves has done it again. I was never amazed by some of Reeves films but Matrix took films to another level. With Constantine again I found that Reeves has managed to play a role in a film that to me was fantastic. Constantine managed to not only keep my interest throughout but continually left me in anticipation. Its a film I will be keeping in my all time favourites. I would never have believed the story line but it does play with your imagination and get you thinking. It is definately worth a watch. If not 2 or 3 to get every detail.

riecker's ebay shop gives this movie a good rating.though the movie produced the gore and the storyline.we think that the suspence and the acting was not as intense as the matrix.

bought for my son, i've watched it myself and loved it, i wouldnt recommended it for everyone but if you like a good thriller/horror this could be the film for you

The Film was superb taking the idea of demon hunting just that bit further. A well worth a look movie
