I bought this CD out of interest as I still love the original X Ray Spex stuff.['Identity' is my fave- on pink vinyl too for added sex appeal!]
Poly's voice appears to lack the naive charm of old on this album-her voice sounds almost normal !- no croak and its in tune too !! [I bet she had singing lessons, if so it's destroyed any originality that she had]
The songs are all fine but again the magic is just not there.
The production is pucker too- again it lacks something- it's too good.
Buy this for interests sake only- it will make you play 'Germ Free' all the more......
