The first four albums I ever bought, when I was 14, were James Taylor's 'Mud Slide Slim', Carole King's 'Tapestry', Cat Stevens' 'Teaser and the Firecat' and Joni Mitchell's 'Blue'. I subsequently bought Joni Mitchell's previous and later albums, all except this one, 'Clouds', for some reason. Well, now I have a copy and although it will never mean the same to me as the others because I haven't known most of the songs nearly so long, it is great to at last have 'Chelsea Morning' and 'Both Sides, Now' to play whenever I want (and I do). Ageing hippydom is upon me. :)
Update: I've had this CD for a little while now, and had to come back to say there is a lot more to this beautiful CD than 'Chelsea Morning' and 'Both Sides, Now', great songs though they are. Thoughtful, moving lyrics and lovely melodies have made this CD a firm favourite. If you've ever been newly in love and unsure of the situation - and I'm guessing that's everyone - you will be moved by 'I Don't Know Where I Stand', I don't care how old and cynical you may be. You still have a memory.
