Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z70 Digital Camera

I recently bought a NEW Casio EX-Z70 and am delighted with the purchase which came out much cheaper than a retail shop purchase.

The package was factory sealed and included accessories and battery. The reference manual was bit limited but further information was available from the Casio site.

On using the camera for two weeks I noticed the battery was not charging properly and in my opinion was faulty. I contacted the seller from EBay who has a shop on the site and got no response from my three emails!

I eventually bought an additional battery as the aggravation was not worth it! The redress system on EBay is such a palaver that you need the patience of a saint!

The moral of the story is if you are buying off EBay make sure you are covered by guarantee, particularly if it is a high ticket item.

I purchased the camera for my Daughter, I had the chance to play with it myself and found it was a cracking little camera easy to operate and good quality pictures. My Daughter used the camera in Africa on a recent holiday and had taken well over 200 photo's and almost every one was a keeper.
For the money it was an excellent buy.

camera is easy to use and very light, I purchased the camera based on the price compared with other camersa with the same functions.
Overall geat camer.

This is my 2nd one of these cameras - my 1st one broke after being dropped. The lens jammed - that is the only fault I can find with it, it's not great when dropped. Aside from that there's nothing bad I can say about this camera - it's so easy to use and the quality is fantastic. The 'Best Shot' picture profiles are great for capturing that perfect image. Buy it but don't drop it!!

Before you start reading, let me tell you that I don't know a thing about photography.
So, if you're after technicalities, I'm sorry, but I'm not the right person to ask!
This review has been written by a photography dummy for other photography dummies!
Though, if, just like me, you don't know (and don't want to know! yes, I'm lazy!) a thing about how a camera is supposed to work, but you like to take decent pictures, this might be the camera for you!
It is quite simple to use, though the menu is quite articulated, so, at a first sight, it might not look so much dummy-friendly.
Though, you can choose the "easy option" (or shatever it is called!), and it'll do baically everything by itself.
If, like me, you feel up to fiddling a bit, you'll find many options and settings that are not so difficult to use.
And, I promise you that if I have succeeded in taking decent pictures, anybody can do the same!
There is also an option to record some footage (& sound), so, if you REALLY cannot get that picture (ever tried to take a picture of a running border collie, and only got a blurry tail? then you know what I mean!), you can always resort to this innocuous trick, and extract some good images anyway, and pretend that you are oh so talented!
So, this camera is easy to use, eayish to understand, if you want to choose more complex options, and can take pretty good images.
It is also quite sturdy (mine has had a bath, and has also been rescued from said border collie mouth).
The downsides that I have found are the fact that all the images seem to be HUGE (probably fiddling a bit more could help me with that.... but hey, have I mentioned the fact that I'm lazy?), so you'll need a big memory card if you like to take random pictures of everything you see.
Also, the battery display is not exactly precise, even though if you treat you battery reasonably you will hardly ever run ot of power...
So, as far as I'm concerned, even though there are cheaper products, I feel that this camera is quite worth the money!

Why did you buy it?...Because I was drunk, of course!!

What did you like about it?...Bidding so much for something so nackered.

What didn't you like about it?...1] The wife finding the e-bay receipt...and going berserk, for lying !!!
2] The red wine staines on our white Pursian cat.

Very compact stylish camera, with optical and electronic zoom.

I purchased one for myself for travelling. I liked it enough to purchase a second one for my wife.

Works from Infinity to Macro (3") and with good lighting produces very good pictures with a little care and a steady hand !!!

Flash setting On Off and reduced (good for portraits and close-up)

Also records Mpeg Video with sound.

Vast arange of adjustments to achieve good pitures.

On screen Zoom, and multipicture playback. Superb large viewing screen.

Rechargeable Battery good for 500 flash photos and takes SD memory cards so can take a lot of pictures while on the move

Nice compact battery charger, recharges battery in an hour or so.

Only reservation, pictures become grainy and colour changes in low light with no flash, but for normal use this would not happen.

The compact nature of this camera makes it an easy item to carry in your top pocket or in car glove compartment, can always be with you. Facilities are packed into this small package and are easy to understand from scrolling through the menus on screen. The screen itself is quite bright, pictures appear to be washed out but I think this is due to the level of illumination, probably set for viewing on sunny days. Battery life between recharge seems good too. One problem is that the on off buttons are prone to accidental switching on even when in case as button profile is raised slightly. Overall though the camera is simple to use and with the addition of extra memory it's a great little holiday snap camera.

The size of the display is good. It is also very easy to use. I would prefer it to be smaller, but it is not big

I purchased this for simplicity as it was for my 10 year old son. It has a basic point and shoot, and a program mode. He found it very easy to use straight out of the box. Typical guy, never read the instructions. Quality very good, great pictures. Good value for money

Small, compact, lightweight, clear screen, not much bigger than a credit card. What impressed me most was the quality of the video footage that I took. I suppose the 7Megapixels really do their job well. With a 1Gb SD card inserted, I can take either 14minutes of constant high qualit video or over 200 photos. Very pleased and won't hesitate to get another one.

The camera is very good, although sometimes the photos are not very clear, overall it is excellent. The delivery was on time, the package was good, so recommended!!!

Wanted a compact camera to use when I didn't want to carry my Fuji and this was a great price and a good quality camera which fitted in my pocket.

I decide to buy it because it was cheaper than online stores. I like almost everything. Its easy to work and have a nice design.

I bought the camera for someone else, they seem to like it, not printed any pictures from it as yet so don't know what the quality is like.

Loved the look of this camera, going on a special holiday and wanted a better camera, although it only arived a few days before we were due to leave, I didnt really have time to study the camera properly, it was quite easy to use. Took absolute loads of photos - 230 in all - and no problem storing them. Easy to delete anything I didnt like ( not as with the old camera - i twice deleted the whole holiday snaps by mistake!!!).When I got home it was fairly easy to transfer onto the computer and print etc. NICE LITTLE CAMERA!!

This camera is very slim, very easy to use and takes a cracking photo. I had a lower spec model of this one before and dropped it by accident so I didn't hesitate to replace it with a similar model.

I am 500% happy with this product. It is really small, easy to use and perfect quality of the picture and even video. Whats more surprising - the battery lasts for about 2 weeks, making photos everyday. I had before some othere digital cameras, and this is the best. Strongly recommend to everybody.
PS - the price is also amazing

This is a fantastic camera the quality of it is superb. Bought it for going to euro disney and the pictures all came out fantastic. Pictures look great on the computer screen but it does them no justice untill you print them out. The zoom is fantastic as well and the memory is great. took loads of videos as well and was amased at home much fitted on the card that came with the camera. The only downside I found is the software that came with the camera it is crap but nothing to do with the camera, I have my own software so was not a big problem. A++++++++++++++ rating on the camera.

I BAUGHT THIS CAMERA ON THE THIRD OF JUNE, I WAS DISSAPOINTED TO FIND THAT THE CAMERA WAS NOT NEW AS STATED ON THE SELLER WEB. I HOPE THE SELLER WILL GET IN TOUCH TO EXPLAIN THE REASON FOR THAT?ESPECIALLY IT IS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR MY DAUGHTER.

The Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z70 is an amazing little machine, it's small size was the first thing that caught my attention, it's not much bigger that the latest mobile phone. The stylish black and silver colours are also attractive. It takes excellent photos and offers anti-shake option which is very useful. It has enough photo options to keep the fussiest gadget freak busy for a good while, but is easy to use. This camera combines quality with reasonable pricing. A good buy!
