Craig is probably the 2nd best Bond after Connery.

I was not very impressed with this contribution to the 007 series of movies. It was overhyped. Yes, there were 1 or 2 action sequences where, if Daniel Craig did do the stunts, it is quite impressive. However, the story was poor with not too much 007 type action, unless you are captivated by a game of cards and a bit of fighting. My partner enjoyed it though, and i suspect this was because Mr Craig got his swim suit on a couple of times. I would say that if you enjoyed the more recent Pierce Brosnan bond films, then this one should be given a miss. I will not be watching the next Daniel Craig bond film as i do not think he makes for a very convincing 007, even Roger Moore has more acting ability.
Overall, a bit of a let down.

The material in this movie has been given the 12 rating, but i would hesitate to show my twelve year old this level of violence.
while the technological fiction is exciting but the destruction on young minds is unpardonable.

I just love all of the James Bond films from the first one DR NO to the present one Casino Royal with Daniel Craig, to see this on blu ray is just fantastic, any person who has just purchased a blu ray player, must buy this disc.

Nice to have the extras on the DVD as well as the film. Also subtitles very useful for some of the harder to hear bits.

Great Bond film, one of the best! The action at the start is brilliant. Although it slows down in many places, its still very interesting and has two laugh out loud moments, one being when bond is being tortured. Excellent on blue ray, its really clear and colourfull. Recommended.

was not happy with this lastest bond film. not sure if i want a darker bond. give me more bigger action shots and toys, like the films before this.
pehaps when solice comes out it will be better....

Bond is back!
Daniel Craig is superb in this latest Bond blockbuster right up there with Connery but with more edge.there are fewer gadgets and girls but this helps make for a far better storyline without the distractions.The action sequences are breathtaking in high def.(and still brilliant if you only have normal dvd quality)This film is a must for any Bond fan and even if you haven't got the Bond bug, Casino Royale is a brilliant action thriller with great performances and a great storyline.The birth of Bond is the premise of this film but in my eyes it is Bond reborn bigger blonder and better! Bring on the next installment,fantastic!!!

watched the film when it first came out and wanted to watch again. went onto ebay and just happened to come across DVD bid and was lucky enough to buy. have not look at it yet but will do so when have time. really pleased to have obtained item.

THE SIMPLE ANSWER TO THIS MOVIE IS IF YOU ARE A JAMES BOND FAN WATCH IT IF NOT WHY BOTHER WATCHING IT AND SLATING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE EXCELLENT BOND ACTION GREAT STUNTS AND SPECIAL EFFECTS, WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR , WATCH IT , BUY IT LOVED IT..........

Took a while to get into Daniel Craig being Bond but once we got into the plot of the film it was a brillinat Bond film. Definetly worth a second and third watch.

I am a fan of all the Bond films, but this one is a cut above the rest. An excellent film. Daniel Craig portrays the gritty side of the character, and essentially shows us Bonds learning of the task he must complete.

Daniel Craig is probably the best Bond since Sean Connery and puts in a good performance here. He cracks the Bond mould slightly and puts a rougher edge on the character which is more suited to modern times. The use of CGI is quite prevalent which takes some adjusting to but allowances must be made for this in the same way that Bond humour used to have to be tolerated! Best scene? Probably when Bond meets Vesper on the train, great dialogue. Enjoyable Bond film that will be succeeded by an even better second Bond film for Daniel Craig as he settles into the role.

Ah great movie, back to form with the James Bond franchise.

Plus points all stunts are stunts, not special effects.
Just see Star Wars episodes 1-3 & Indiana Jones IV to see how special effects ruin a film.

Minus points the script actually asks you to think while watching the film, the plot has twists in it, normal action films do not (see Commando) and as such, the average action fan may find it too boring with too few special effects, no special gadgets, not enough deaths too much talking.

Personally I like the new direction of the franchise "realistic" (no invisible cars in this one) I like the casting Daniel Craig is excellent as the new Bond (sod the fact he is blonde and has blue eyes - he can actually act!) and I like the plot (I'm sick of seeing satellites that can destroy - twice in Pierce's tenure) Roll on Quantum of Solace, I for one will be going to the cinema to see the film!

The quality between the ordinary DVD of Casino Royale and this Blu Ray is marked! Loved it! Another great feature of Playstation 3 with which I played this.

Casino Royale in 1080p HD, superb pic and cracking film... Would highly recommend.. Watched for the 1st time on new playstation 3 and the pic and sound were astonsihing...

Bought this for my son as he likes 007 movies. He watched the behind the scenes programme on this one and apparently the car roll scene won the Guinness Book of Records for the most rolls (they did 7 he says). Someone we know was a stunt guy on the film too.

This is the latest film in the long line of James Bonds adventures as a British Secret agent. This film centres on Bond gaining his 00 license or in other words his license to kill. Its not a bad film but to be honest i was a little disappointed, as i just don't see Daniel Craig fitting the James Bond character role.

Forget all the other James Bond films. This places the character right up to date and in an excellent film to boot. Loads have been written about it so I won't waffle on too much. Daniel Craig is perfect in the role, the story is pacey and the girls are beautiful. 2 hours of top-notch entertainment and you'll forget you're watching James Bond, rather a cracking yarn! Unmissable on any level. By the way, in line with the fads of our times, see if you can spot anyone smoking - I couldn't!

Loving it, watched few times and still entertaining each time watching it. It is definitely a different taste to the good old bond franchise but is definitely one to keep!
