Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels On A Gravel Road (CD 1998)

I bought this CD because I like mainstream Country Music and I love driving. The title attracted me - I knew nothing about the artiste when I bought it. It is certainly excellent music for driving along the open road. With a "Deep South" and "laid back" drawl to her voice, Lucinda Williams portrays a vivid picture of American life in the country areas. There is some lovely guitar work and some very mellow guitar sounds.

Hearing this has made me want to listen to more Lucinda Williams material - quality guitar playing and a distinctive American Deep South feel to the compositions. Classy stuff - and great played at full volume in an open top car...
