I bought the 350D as a result of a Which? test - they thought it was better than the 400D that superseded it and as the 350D is no longer made, there are some small but meaningful savings to be made. Mine turned out, according to accompanying paperwork, to be unused stock returned from a major retailer to Canon so was brand new and with warranty.
The standard lens is fine but an aftermarket Sigma 18-200 with optical stabilisation (how did I manage without it?) - also from an Ebay shop - makes for an awesome combination. My older 35mm Sigma 28-200 fitted the mount fine but would not link electronically and after enquiring with Sigma, could not be re-chipped. This is a common problem resulting in "error 99" showing on the screen. That was the only disappointment and I had not factored in the cost of a new lens just yet. Image quality is superb from both body and lens though and the Sigma is full compatible with the cropped sensor of the Canon giving the correct range of focal lengths (the 28-200mm would have performed more like a 42-300mm on this body so a big loss at the wide end).
Possible dislikes for some people MAY (but only may) be slightly small review screen, no live view because of the mirror (I'm not sure this ever works particularly well on DSLRs that have it) and possibly the slightly smaller than normal body, although I have big hands and I find it perfect - very 35mm SLR-like.
In conclusion, this is a quality product that produces the goods and is well worth the money. The lens is also highly recommended.
