MY PARTNER AND HER SIBLINGS AND THEIR PARTNERS AND FRIENDS LOVE INTERACTIVE QUIZZES. MAINLY ABOUT THEIR TWO LOVES FILMS AND MUSIC. THIS IS A GOOD GAME AS IT EVEN HAD THE MUSIC LOVERS STUMPED AND THEY THINK THEY KNOW IT ALL SO SUPERB IN THAT WAY. EVEN I AS A 58 YEAR OLD CAN COMPETE WITH THE YOUNGSTERS WITH THIS ONE.
its a great fun quiz which i've really enjoyed. the speed of the questions is better than other dvd quizzes i've had.(some i've had take AGES to download the next question which is really frustrating!!) there should be a better spread of questions in one game (sometimes we get the same questions repeated within the same game. this shouldnt happen). there are a few obscure questions on there, ie bands/songs noone has ever heard of and werent popular. i think on a quiz like this, it should be mainly well known artists. generally though, its really good, with different eras to choose from, so each person can pick an era they like. i bought it just cos i love music quizzes! of all the ones i own, this is one of the better ones!
I was disappointed by the length of time it takes to go to the next question, takes quite a while. I hardly knew any of the questions either. And it sometimes repeats the same question. I think this would be better if you was play it at a family gathering..but only the once! The game sounded excellent on the advert, and you knew some of the songs. Unfortunetly this is not as good as they made out. I am glad I bought it cheap on Ebay as I would've been gutted to have paid the RRP for it.
Great variety of tunes, but the problem is that they cover the whole music spectrum, not just the standards, classics and well-known singles, but more obscure singles and album tracks as well, so if you don'tknow the track you're being asked about, the next 4 questions become extremely difficul.
Saying that, the whole thing is well structured and might increase one's musical/pop trivia knowledge. It's not something you could sit down wioth on xmas day with Auntie nellie, and all have a chance of winning, though.
This is a fun game to play but it is not as good as the new one in my opinion. You have to use a pen and paper to write down your answers and you play at the same time. I prefer to play with the remote where each team/player gets their own questions otherwise its difficult to confer if you play in a team as you are all answering the same q's. Also we played 3 games in a row and on the 3rd go we had repeated q's. It is good though and the questions are quite up to date.
We have passed many hours with this, You get 10 questions, each with 5 parts, and no answers until the end of the round, so you will need pen & paper. Even the easy rounds are tough, but thats all part of the fun!
The item was a copy and not the original and therefore not really advertised correctly however the seller did explain this before I made payment and offered to allow me to withdraw from the sale with no obligation but I was very disappointed that he was cheating the system in the first place but by then it was too late for me to get the genuine article intime for our party.
One thing I can't stand is waiting. Waiting that could easily be avoided if the effort had just been put in to prevent it. That's why 'Beat the Intro' really stirred my blood.
The object of the game is simple - choose your decade, and then questions about music begin to fire at you. Guess the lyrics. Guess the intro. Etc etc. Unfortunately, from the moment you begin to play, you find yourself shouting 'COME ON!! HURRY UP!!'. You could quite easily make a cup of tea for you all all your guests in the time it takes to load the next question. Ok ok, so obviously that's a slight exaggeration... but the problem is, this kind of game is MEANT to be played fast. And slow just doesn't cut it. I should be excited about guessing the next song, not wondering how long 10 rounds of this shoddy game is going to take.
The music that comes with the game isn't exactly up to scratch either. Get ready for a room of people looking around at each other, pulling faces and going 'Ehh?!'. You'll eventually just end up laughing at the fact that you paid to all sit around listening to the intros of songs that time forgot... or just no-one ever heard.
If you want a good Intros DVD game, go for 'Beat The Intro 2'. The tunes are better, the layout is better, there's a one player game... AND IT MOVES AT A DECENT SPEED!! Leave this snail's game well alone.
This is an easy to follow interactive game which is fun to play. The instructions at the start of the game was clear and presise. The game itself was great fun.. a bit too hard at times for definately was a laugh. It made a otherwise boring night into a fun and entertaining one. If you like music then I suggest you try this and test your music knowledge
