Quintessential album from Meat Loaf & Jim Steinman. Only eclipsed by Bat Out of Hell III ! Bought 3 other ablums and DVD on the strength of ML reputation for showmanship and wasn't disappointed.
I love this album, have had it for years on tape, unfortunately it broke due to extensive playing so its great to get it now on CD. This CD is great for playing in the car on long journey's. If your as big a fan as me you'll learn the words and being singing along before you know it. It's classic Meatloaf and you can't beat it. Songs are great lenght, some fast tempo, some slow but all brilliant.
You can never get enough Meat Loaf. This CD and his music still stands the tests of time. I've wanted this albums for years and never got around to get them, then EBay offered £5 off for Easter and I took this chance to get both Bat out of Hell 1 and 2. They are great listening
This cd was produced when Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman got back together after splitting up for a couple of years. It is a piece of music genious bringing back together a wonderful songwriter and producer and a GREAT performer. This cd is a must for any Meat Loaf fan.
OK so here it is the sequel to one of the coolest albums ever produced.
Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell 2: Back Into Hell does have some awesome original material which is classic steinman / meat loaf and are well worth the purchase just for them, these tracks are: I'd do anything for love, Life is a lemon, Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are. All of which are top tracks.
However some of the tracks on this album (like Bat out of Hell 3) are Meat Loaf versions of tracks from Jim Steinman's solo album Bad for Good, the best of which ( the title track ) was saved for Bat out of Hell 3.
Out of the Frying Pan, Lost Boys and Golden Girls, rock n roll dreams come through and the wasted youth monologue are all from steinmans album/singles.
This bothers me because it means Bat 2 doesnt feel or appear to be a thought out conceptual piece of work to which we as fans were expecting and the album doesnt gel as well as the original. Lets face it they ve had enough time to get this one right.
I would still give this 4 stars and is a must buy for fans of Meat Loaf and / or Steinman for the reasons mentioned previously.
This has got to be the very best Meat Loaf album I have ever experienced! There are a few tracks I hadn't heard before and a couple I already have on other CD's, which is how things usually are, but I am over the moon with it. I believe it marked the come-back of Meat Loaf, when his voice was it top form. It will continue to be one of my treasured possessions for all time.
Very simply, got it as my wife is a massive fan and had parts 1 & 3 already. As per usual operatic and intense!! It went down well, I got a bargain; everyone happy - what more can you ask $??
I decided to buy this after recently going to a Meatloaf Concert. Although familiar with the album, I had never owned it or had a good listen to it all the way through.
It's not in the same class as the original album but is a respectable 2nd album full of the power and emotional tracks you would expect. Any meatloaf fan will not be disappointed.
If you went to the 2007 tour and dont own this album, you should ! It will always remind you of the concert.
Fantastic album - there is no bad song in there. If you like rock anthems then they dont get any better than this! I bought this years ago and then lost it, bought Bat Out of Hell 3 when it came out and re-bought this for the memories - it's even better than I remember it. 3 is good, but 2 is one of the best albums I have ever bought!!!
I had this CD many years ago and loved it - but misplaced it when moving house. I was lucky enough to be able to get a first class copy of this CD from ebay. The CD is excellent and follows the highly acclaimed Bat out of Hell Vol.1. All the tracks are fantastic, but the one that moves me most is "Objects in the Rear Videw Mirror (may appear closer than they are" - the lyrics of which are based on Meat Loaf's personal recollection of a difficult childhood and adolescence. Enough said - I have now bought Bat out of Hell Vol.3 and would recommend that too! Even better - For Christmas I was bought tickets for the Meat Loaf 2007 concert tour.
I decided to buy this item for my mum as she is a big Meatloaf fan and only had that album on Vinyl, whereas she has 1 and 3 on CD. I was really pleased with the service i received from the seller, and with the album itself. Brilliant buy and seller.
Meat Loaf, one of my all time favourites.A great new compilation of what will become timeless classics like bat out of hell did before. This cd has a great mix of the commercial favourites like Anything for love but deeper tracks like my fav, Objects in the rearview mirror. The intro to wasted youth is hilarious and the song is excellent. This is one cd to keep in the car, first class drivin tunes!***** five stars.
