Retro Atari Jaguar Console

I had one of these consoles in '93 when it first came out in the UK. I got a bargain as rumbalows was closing down and got it cheap, at that time I paid about £90 for the console and then bought extra games cheap, Tempest 2000, Trevor Mcfur, Doom, and of course Alien Vs Predator. I also tried out the Jag CD but was told that it was not being supported and that games would not be manufactured for it. I sold the Jag as I thought it was a hot potato and would not be supported by software houses. I kept my interest in cosoles, by buying, PS1, N64, Xbox, Wii, etc....
Then I discovered Ebay...
After looking on the AtariAge Websites, and others I found that the Jag had a lot of games written for it and that they could be purchased from Ebay. Remembering how good the console was in its day I decided to pursue some purchases and began collecting the games.
This was a truly under rated console at the time, and some of the software written for it is still unrivaled today. Alien Vs Predator is an absolute classic. I remember the hair standing on the back of my neck the first time I heard the predator whilst playing as a marine, and swaring (embarrassingly) out load whilst showing off the game to my family [after which I had to apologise]. Tempest 2000 is an amazing game. Thumping sound track and very adictive gameplay. There are loads of great software titles available for the Jag, many of which can be reviewed on various websites advising how common they are, and include reviews, screen shots and other bits of useful information.
There is also a CD add on, which looks like a "toilet", haha. This gives CD quality music and some better games Graphically. These can also be purchased on Ebay. There are also a lot of homebrewed games avavilable for the Jag CD and other utilities, etc, giving the gamer another dimension to the console.
If you are looking to recapture your youth then the Jag is definately one way of doing it. You won't be disappointed. Compared to the consoles of today, the graphics are poor, gameplay slow, etc, etc, but for true retro gamers there is something very special about this console. Kids of today do not understand the console, my children mocked the quality of graphics, until they played it - now then realise that gameplay and game simplicity is great. Take VidGrid for example - what a great game - hours and hours of fun.
I am in hot pursuit of a working 60Hz console so I can play Dragons Lair, again another classic game.
Some of the games are fairly rare now and hard to get hold off. Some of the other games are common but popular and so can get a very good price for them on Ebay. With the games and Jaguar being unsupported now for such a long time, ebay is about the best place to find the hardware and software. There are websites that sell software but their prices are very unreasonable.
