At Close Range (DVD 2003)

I decided to buy this DVD because I had seen it years ago and the reality of it was frightening.I have a CD of Madonna hits and it features "Live to Tell" which was the theme music for the film so every time the CD was played it reminded me of the film. I'm not a Sean Penn fan but I thought he played a good part and Christopher Walkens piercing eyes could never be forgotten.Criminal Brad Whitewood (Christopher Walken) has had an informer murdered and decided that anyone who knows anything about it must be silenced before they could give evidence,including his own sons.It's a slow film that's difficult to follow at first but the candid brutality and the fact that it is based on real life leave you with an uneasy feeling.
