I am surprised that this album has received such "dissapointed" reviews. I happen to think this is her best. The songs have a different attitude to previous albums and I think thats why people aren't taking the time to listen. It isn't as hiphop as previous albums but it's different. Surely if all artists stayed the same it would get repetitive!
My favorite track is number 10, with more drums and acoustics this is so different from her past songs. Yes, "No One" is no doubt a top hit but give the other tracks a little time and you will start to enjoy them.
This will be played over and over on my ipod!

I recently bought Alicia Keys latest album 'As I Am' after hearing 'No One' on the radio, and was expecting it to be a fantastic album like her debut album a 'Songs In A Minor' but I was very disappointed. The only good song on the album is No One, all the others a rubbish. Also in my own opinion the recording quality on the album just doesn't seem to have that tight crisp midrange. I'm afraid this album is very disappointing even though I'm a big fan of her music.

I brought this cd because i like the No-one track, but was dissapointed with all the other tracks, I found it very repetitive and listen became boring, i wish i'd just brought the single.

love alicia, last album i bought was songs in a minor just for the track 'fallin' but got addicted to the whole album! love her song 'no one' so decided to get this album!
was a bit disappointed on the first play as i thought alot of the songs sounded too similar to the album i already had. think the best song is 'no one'.
even though the album grew on me after a few plays i still feel its too much like songs in a minor!
alecia is a fantastic singer!

A good album from Alicia Keys.Absence may make the heart grow fonder, but it doesn't always make the music sound sweeter. It's been far too long since Alicia released a new album – way back in 2003 with her splendid 'Diary Of Alicia Keys'. Sure, she's done an "unplugged" selection since, yet this is the first batch of new material that we've all been waiting for. And she's got a heck of a lot to live up to as her debut 'Songs in A Minor' was a multiple Grammy winner, and catapulted her into the mainstream. Ready or not. What made her special has been a natural classical side which fused perfectly with current R&B flavours. It was a class that lifted her above her contemporaries, and yet still appealed to all. A perfect combo that has helped her shift around 20 million CDs so far.
Not as good as her debut but still,it's her same sound,the sound that catapulted her to fame in the early 00's with Fallin'.No one is the first track taken from this album and it really is a worthy winner.I love it.
This IS a good album,just nothing new but if you're a fan i'm sure you won't be disappointed.
