Life is a contact sport and football is life when three-time Academy Award-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone and a dynamic acting ensemble explore the fortunes of the Miami Sharks in 'Any Given Sunday'.
At the 50-yard line of this gridiron cosmos is Al Pacino as Tony D'Amato, the embattled Sharks coach facing a full-on blitz of team strife plus a new, marketing-savvy Sharks owner (Cameron Diaz) who's sure Tony is way too old-school.
An injured quarterback (Dennis Quaid), a flashy, bull-headed backup QB (Jamie Foxx), a slithery team doctor (James Woods) and a running back with an incentive-laden contract (LL Cool J) also provide some of the stories that zigzag like diagrams in a playbook.

I bought this for my fella and wasnt that keen on watching it when I discovered it was about american football...however...I sat through the movie and was gripped by the storyline!!
The acting was fantastic and the footage of the players was exiting so that at points I was sat on the edge of my seat shouting at the tv!! (lol)
I would rate this a fantastic must see movie, not only for the thrill of the actors but the simple fact that you cannot help being sucked into cheering on the team, booing the bad guys and biting your nails at the finale!!!
my advice.....buy it and you will watch it more than once!!

Any given SundayGreat film. Loved it on video now have the DVD. Very realistic action sequences that make you feel every hit. Great performance by Al Pacino, with the half time speech to end all half time speeches.
If you havent seen this, your missing a treat. Well worth adding to your collection.

Any Given Sunday (DVD 2000)This film has an awesome cast, supported by an equally good soundtrack. I watched this before a rugby semi final, and Al Pacino's speech is an absolute classic. You don't have to be an NFL fan at all to appreciate this film. Pacino, Diaz, Foxx, LL Cool J, you cant go wrong! Would advise to anyone building a DVD collection.

Any Given SundayI like this film because it different to other films, i bought it because there are some classic actors/actreeses in it, e.g. Jamie Foxx, LL Cool J, Cameron Diaz etc. Plus there is a naked scene (LOL).

Quality ShowIf you love sports films like myself like Remeber the Titans, Friday Night Lights, Coach Carter, then you need to get this DVD.
Al Pacinos 'Game of Inches' speech is worth buying the DVD alone.
This film is full of hard hits and great camera work. The comparison between the old and new game is great and keeps the viewer entertained for the whole 2.5hrs. Defintiely one to add to your collection

inside the gameI loved this movie! the camera angles and shots of some of the plays! Excellent cast, very old style vrs new style of todays football and how its played! Fantastic movie well worth the watch..

I bought this film following seeing an extract when Al Pacino gives a stirring team talk about fighting for inches and that life is about winning those inches - best part of the film although overall still an enjoyable watch

Classic Sports FilmSport and cinema don't always mix well together,(ie name a good football based film?),but Any Given Sunday is a sheer delight for anyone who likes sporting themed films,this is the one.Al Pacino is great as the under pressure coach who is quickly running out of quarterbacks,and Jamie Fox makes his first foray from comedian to actor.Great film,great story,great action.
