classic sci fi and one of the best films ever made. director, actors, script, music, sets and special effects are superb. if you want to know how to make a film watch this one.
As good as it gets ~ Suspense, a great Alien and Sigony Weaver wearing not very much. It is really a beatifully shot film, Ridley Scott new what he was doing when he directed this classic film.
This is simply the definitive version of Ridley's all time great sci-fi horror and the second disc is packed with quality extra's on the making of the film - it's the kind of package you'd expect for a film classic such as this.
The seller kept in touch so i knew when to expect delivery which made the whole transition run very smooth Which is why i would recommend this seller to everyone
Simply the best Sci-fi thriller ever, hasn't aged, still as fresh as ever. The vision and tension in this movie set's it apart from all Sci-fi films of it's genre and spawned many clones.
I recently got given the alien vs preditor box set which included alien vs preditor, aliens and preditor. after watching these films i really wanted to see the other films such as alien, alien3, alien resurection and preditor. ive seen alien and alien 3 now and im waiting to purchase alien resurection and preditor in new yorke(2)! i really enjoy watching sci fi films and especially ones with aliens in as its very interesting. There has to something else apart from humans right!! i really enjoyed the films i purchased and they were quite jumpy in places which keeps you on your toes.
This is the 1979 movie by Ridley Scott that started it all.
The crew of a deep space cargo-hauler Nostromo is awakened by their computer. The Capitan, Dallas (Tom Skerritt) and first officer Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) find that the ships computer has received a distress call that diverts their ship to a planet called LV-426.
Once the ship lands, the crew discovers a crashed alien ship with a surprise inside: the most terrifying concept of an alien life form ever to menace the silver screen.
I will not go into great detail about the plot or the creature. Authors and screen-writers have explored a number of various types of aliens: blobs, insectoids, cybernetic, humanoid, aquatic, even crustacean. Most were based on the pinnacle of evolution for some type of biology that we are familiar with save one: the parasite. This concept of an alien creature is perhaps the creepiest ever.
Ridley Scott's "Alien" is a sci-fi classic which is much more than a mere "Space-opera". One could also make a solid case that it is also an action-adventure or a horror classic as well.
The movie is available in two versions: the original (1979) or a director's cut (2003). I suggest the directors cut.
The original tag-line for this movie was: "In space, no one can hear you scream." They will be able to hear you scream the first time you see this movie in your living room.
