Alien Collection - Any true fan must own this!!!!

The first Alien movie blew my mind out, and I'm not that easy "blowable" when it comes to Sci Fi movies. The icy, slow moving and claustrophobic atmosphere directed by Ridley Scott, enchanted by the bio-bone-metallic alien surroundings created by Giger, makes Alien one of the most scary Sci Fi movies up to this date. It was also by the time one of the best acted Sci Fi films made, and I have to admit that Ripley really was "my kind of gal".
The follower-up, The Aliens, took years to develope and was a different kind of movie.
Directed by Cameroun it had a fast moving and action like setting, with big mouthed marines determined to really kick some ass and killing of the alien bugs just like that, and a sombre Ripley calling the cards saying: "Oh yeah ? A single one of them took out my entire crew one by one, and now we might be
facing a lot of them"
Aliens lack the erieness, and creepy feeling of the first movie, but I've yet not decided which movie I like best. But they're both very good to outstanding movies, ranking 5 stars in my book.
In front of the third Alien movie there was a lot of rumours that this would be the last in a triology, giving answers to what the Alien species really was all about, where they came from and their purpose in life. There was to be a final battle between "us and them" on their home planet.
Instead we had Ripley facing a smarter, more agile alien trapped on a prison planet. The movie is trying hard the have some deep profound human sentiment in it, telling us that the bad guys really are great guys when it comes down to the nitty gritty. It ends up with Ripley biting the dust in a bacward swan dive into molten metal, and by golly, I thought this was The End of the Alien saga. Yeah right! Well, I'll give it a 3.5 star rating
Now, in the fourth Alien movie Ripley is cloned back to life, but have had her DNA mixed with the alien's DNA, (back from movie No 3).
She is now partly alien and has quite exceptional reflexes and strength, but there ends the excitement for me so I shall say no more about this movie, except giving it a 2.5 star rating.
Total for the Alien quad pack is a strong 4 star rating from me, as it is a must in every Sci Fi collection.
NB! there has been a longstanding rumour of a fifth Alien movie, but if Ripley is gonna be played by S.Weawer, they'll better hurry up before they have to roll her on the set in a wheel chair so; hurry on kitty, kitty !

As I am buying a TV projector and will have the picture approx, ten foot by six foot on the wall, oh yea
The item is in a brand new condition still with the film cover on it

The best box set of the Alien Saga out to buy with 9 discs and over 40 hours of extras it comes with two versions of each film on each disc and a special features disc for each film plus a bonus disc. This is a must have for any Alien fan Highly recomended.

These films are exceptional, superb and exciting.Great set of films, each film stands up in it's own right. The suspense, tension, and shear terrior in each story is outstanding. I will be watching these again and again. Get out your pop corn and drinks, set up your surround sound and sit back and enjoy, just don't look behind you.

I bought this because i have wanted the box set of ages..i love the special effects Aliens have and the face huggers are just mad! For people who like a good horror film or films i think that this is one to buy!!!

The ist "alien" movie is in my opinion the best, but the three sequels have much to reccomend them.Special effects are superb and the acting is top class.
You can get this boxset on Ebay for about £15.00 which to my mind is a bargain so if you like sci fi, great special effects, and good acting this is for you.

I HAD A COPY OF THE ITEM AND LENT IT TO A SOMEONE, WHOSE NOW HAD IT SO LONG THAT I FORGOT WHO I LENT IT TOO.. I KEPT ASKING EVERYBODY AND NO ONE ADMITS TO HAVING IT.......IN SHEER DESPERATION I TURNED TO EBAY TO BUY THE ALIEN QUARDRILOGY DVD BOXSET AS I GAVE UP ON GETTING MY OWN RETURNED. i LOVE THIS BOXSET AS IT HAS SO MUCH TO OFFER ON 4 GREAT MOVIES, DOUBLE VERSIONS OF EACH MOVIE, DIRECTORS CUT, EXTRAS GALORE AND BRILL DOCUMENTARIES. FOR ANY SCI FI BUFF THIS IS A MUST HVE FOR YOUR COLLECTION AS IT CONTAINS SOME OF THE GREATEST SCI FI MOVIES OF THE GENRE. So much has been written about the Alien films so it'd be a bit futile to say how good these are or which is the best. They're almost constantly being repeated on telly as well.
But there's nothing like discarding the slightly fuzzy broadcasts of Sky and Freeview before settling down to watching the full DVD quality of these often astonishing films. This pack is a mega collection of bonus material PLUS original theatrical AND Directors cut versions. You really will have everything to do with the Alien series in this box.
The landmark original Alien is still convincing viewing - incredible - and it's timeless construction is almost as cast iron as Kubrik's 2001 (although they are obviously vastly different). Then there's the gung-ho-Marines-in-space of Aliens and the overall visual ammo-fest in what seems like a never ending rollercoaster.
The largely Brit cast of Alien 3 make for a completely different feel and scenario - brilliantly acted and surprisingly cohesive given the issues that arose during production. Ripley dies.
Ripley Lives! - via the Alien Hybrid reincarnation/clone Ripley in Alien:Resurrection - not sure about the ending on that one with the freaky Human/Alien monster, but it's a credible outing.
You're on ebay! - so if you get this at a bargain price it's well worth it. For the completist (and true Alien nuts may lambaste me for this), you really have to cap the collection with the 2 disc edition of Alien Vs Predator. It's not as bad as you think and of course has the horrible devils in, to much the same effect as the original series.

I have loved this series in VHS format but the opportunity to own it on DVD and with Directors Cut make it extra special. It cannot, in my opinion, be praised enough and if youm are a Sigourney Weaver fan this version of the Alien films is a must.
Each film sticks to the original format of video but adds so much extra to the viewing eperience via the cut scenes, etc that it makes the experience of seeing Ripley facing the alien for the first time, almost breathtaking.
As an example of the sci-fi/horror genre this series must rate as the very best and should not be missed.

Loved all 4 movies can watch them over again from time to time . had the set on video but it got loaned out and never returned . There are nine discs in this set directors cut ect ect , a must have for any A I L E N fan . All four films are must see movies i would find it hard to belive if you havent seen or heard of ALIEN or ALIENS if so you must . In space no one can hear you scream ! .

i like the alien quadrilogg because of the full collection. i like sicence fiction and the story line is great. last but by no means least the price cheap as chips
