Track 3 "The Day before you came" is a track I have been searching for, as it is not on the more popular ABBA albums, its great. I only skip a couple of tracks on the whole album, not bad when there is twenty of them. Although I skip some tracks, its not because I do not like them, its just that I have listened to them recently on other CD's and at the moment I am listening to the songs that I have not heard for some time. I will listen to it from start to finish continually when I have got used to having the album.
I bought this CD because it has lots of great songs on it and especially because of the track I already mentioned.
the soundtrack to the seventies. inevitably nostalgic; more innocent times and more innocent songs, but sophisticated with it. nice bits n pieces from the early to later years and hardly a dud there
I bought this CD because many of the lesser known ABBA hits were actually their most accomplished recordings. Out of all the ABBA hits, 'The Day before you came' had the best lyrics of all and deserved a far higher chart placing than No 32. It was nearly six minutes of sheer pleasure to listen to, although I liked the Blancmange cover version too.. I would recommend this CD to any ABBA fan.
Like one of the other reviewers, I have to admit to finding a space in my CD collection for Abba. This is alongside Jeff Beck, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden and the like. I particularly like 'The day before you came' and, for me, the album is worth its money for that track alone but there are some equally well known album tracks amongst the singles here. Refreshingly, thier music is not just restricted to hit singles and album fillers, their depth of quality is much more extensive. I suppose I have to admit a sneaking admiration for their output in the 8 years or so of commercial success. If I can admit it, you can too. Buy it. You will love it!
Volume 2 of the greatest hits from the seventies supergroup, over their career there are more hits than to just fill one album, a perfect complement to Vol.1, just as toe tappingly good as Vol.1 and a must for any ABBA fan.
I beleive that most people on the planet may not admit to it but, like ABBA music. My music collection is mainly PINK FLOYD GUNS`N`ROSES QUEEN and other rock artists but, i still like the unmistakable sound of ABBA. This album contains some early singles and the more popular album tracks. I grew up in the ABBA era so i know the effect they had on the music world and i feel their music(or most of it) will never die. This album is full of "FEEL GOOD" pop songs and i play my copy quite often. Buy yourself a copy, play it in secret if you have to but, you will enjoy it.
I bought this CD for my two young children to dance to, we have the origianl Abba gold but needed a change for a while. I looked in the shops for this CD and could not find it, and so was thrilled when I found it on ebay so easily and quite cheaply as well.
A great follow-up to “GOLD”, “MORE ABBA GOLD” features some of the lesser known of Abba’s singles, including “Summer Night City” and “Angel Eyes”. Definitely one of those albums that you have to turn up to full volume to fully appreciate it! Features the band’s first hit “Ring Ring”, plus the previously unreleased “I am the City”. A great all-rounder with something for everyone, from slower tunes to up-beat ballads! Highly recommended!
