Robert (Ewan McGregor) is one of life's losers. He works as a janitor in a giant corporation, but dreams of something less ordinary.
Sharp-tongued Celine (Cameron Diaz) on the other hand, has never wanted for anything in her short and pampered life as the daughter of Robert's boss, Naville (Ian Holm). But like Robert she's bored.
In a normal life these two souls would never even meet - but who said this story was normal? Two celestial cops are given the assignment of making Celine and Robert fall in love. What more can go wrong?
Was a great movie to just sit down and enjoy, with humour and a certain so real feel to it. plus Camerona Diaz is hot, and Ewan McGregor is cool. so where can anything go wrong.
This has to be one of my favourite films of all time. Ewan McGregor is fantastic as whingy loser Robert, falling on hard times when he's replaced by a robot, evicted, and dumped by his girlfriend all in one day. Cameron Diaz is beautifully bitchy as Cecile, spoilt daughter of Robert's multimillionaire boss. The brilliant twist is that two angels, under pressure to fix the rising divorce rate, have been sent to earth to make Cecile and Robert fall in love. Problem is, he's just kidnapped her in a moment of grief stricken madness. A twisted, personal film, full of genuine real life love contrasted with sugary storybook romance, beautiful, touching and flawed in parts, a sure fire cult classic. i bought the DVD so I could watch it whenever I wanted, plus fast forward really easily... besides, my video copy is a little over-watched! I even have the book!
