24 - Series 1 - Complete (DVD 2002)

The series 24 somehow passed me by, but I eventually borrowed the DVD box set… and promptly lost out on a whole bank holiday weekend (they tell me it was sunny) avidly watching the whole 24hours over three days.

A great great series – the plot twists & turns each hour but they ensure the end of each finishes with such a great cliff hanger that means you just keep watching. How the TV series viewers coped waiting a whole week I have no idea.

The main character, CTU agent Jack Bauer, is convincing and although the plot does push reality to the edge with threats to the Presidents life, it clings to the real world & leaves the viewer avid for more.

well i heard some good reviews about how good 24 is so i decided to buy the 1st season on ebay at a great price, loved it from start to finish great story line i have now bought all the rest of the seasons of 24 as i enjoyed the 1st one so much :):):)

Say goodbye to your life, this is the most addictive show and is gripping TV at it's best! Just when you think you know what will happen next, the plot develops in a completely different direction. This is must watch TV, get it now and take time off work!

Ok, i haven't started watching this series yet but let me just say one thing...

My wife (who isn't a big TV fan) started watching one episode, and within 3 days had watched all 24! She loved it! Her eyes were square by the final episode.

Other than that i am looking fwd to seeing it myself!

I do not normally watch TV series, but I was loaned a copy of the above and found it compelling viewing. Thre are so many unexpected twists and turns in the plot and the action is non stop. I had to have a copy for myself and so I bought it on e-bay at abargain price. I have since loaned my copy to friends and the have become totally addicted also.

Started seeing this programe on TV but didnt see all of it due to working shifts. The price of these DVD's in the shops are expensive so thats why I looked on ebay. The price was very reasonable and the quality is good.

Arrived quickly in condition stated. Good seller, would use again. Well packaged to ensure protection.

This show is genius. I have been watching it since it's first season in 2001. Ever since, I have been anticipating one season after another. Not every season has been completely up to scratch, but I think that the seasons preceeding them have earned our trust in the makers to bring it back to its best. For example, the latest season, season 6, was, in my opinion, not as good as the others. But as I said, the producers have earned my trust as a viewer, to believe in them to bring back the old 24.

The acting is fantastic, and incredibly real. The characters are very much personable, and I feel I can relate to most, if not all, of the story lines. Each season is explosive and full of suspense and action. I remain faithful to 24, to bring us our fix of action, violence and suspense, and I personally cannot wait for the 24 movie.

I would recommend this show to pretty much anyone. My sister watches it, my dad does, and most of my friends watch it. It's not your typical action thriller show, because it contains real life stories. For example, Kim Bauers story in season 1. Most people can relate to at least one of the characters in one way or another, and it is by no means difficult to understand. It is not pretentious either, which is what I would call many other action films or TV shows. It is for everybody. Obviously violence and a little bit of language may get in the way for some younger or easily offended viewers, but I have yet to meet someone who has not been hooked on this show from the very first episode they watch. A strong, and easy 10 out of 10.

24 the best T.V program of all time, this been the first of the series all brilliant and like no other, this is for all you thriller lovers and people who like twists and turns, leaving you not knowing what will happen next, these series are the best of the best and not yet matched

This is an outstanding series and every episode ends with so much suspense and intrigue that you can't stop watching. The story and concept is very well done. No other TV series has this effct on us and watching it on DVD is the best way to experience 24. Set aside a whole weekend get ya wife,kids out the house send them camping somewhere milesss away lol to enjoy this DVD

This season of 24 was a first for television, a series totally filmed in real time using split screen over a 24 hour period. It was also the rebirth of Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, the main character in the series. This DVD box set is absolutley brilliant and if you havent watched 24 before this is where to start your new undoubted obsession!

very addictive series, excellent story line and hard to guess the ending.. fantastic watch, i highly recommend not only this series but the rest. when you've seen one you'll need to see them all...

Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.

There are many reviews for this boxset so I shall keep mine brief and to the facts.

To me, 24 is like the American version of Spooks but so more farfetched. Don’t get me wrong, 24 is well written and contains excellent acting but the story lines are, to me, not that believable. It’s a unique concept for a show to portray that events occur in real time and the ‘following events take place between’ the given hour but for me; it made the plots too farfetched which could detract from the enjoyment. And to be honest, that blasted clock got on my nerves towards the end of the series since they are more noticeable on DVD since on TV they faded into commercials.

Otherwise 24 is nothing short of an excellent piece of Entertainment, which really, should be the only thing that matters.
So what does take place between the hours of 24 season 1. Well, over 500 deaths, a 747 plane bomb/ crash, an election, numerous kidnappings, rape, more murders, sex, stabbings, cover-ups, accidental murders, affairs, betrayal, guns guns guns, guns for hire, infiltration, assignation attempts, torture, car chases, car accidents, a little more sex, pregnancy, secrets, confessions, and lies to name but a few. No one sleeps though for 24 hours but looks amazing – must be that LA sunshine.

There are no 'special features' like makings of, or behind the scenes footage on this boxset, apart from an alternative ending. Get 24, because it's 24! And you will certinaly enjoy it if like me you never watched it when it was on TV. Don't get 24 if you are expecting a believable take on a possible US government depatment.

It really is a clever story, only up to episode 8.!!!Have been getting right into it and the strong characters, it makes you think how twisted the Yanks are!

Recently bought series 1 of 24, wondering what i was missing. The real time drama starring Jack as the Fbi agent.His daughter has been kidnapped and someone is planning to kill a presidential candidate. Jack must stop both with no help from hi employer , who he believes may be involved.The series plays out a day in the life of Jack, each episode being an action packed hour in the mans life. A must see series

Once you pop you can't stop. Each episode ends on a cliff hanger so be prepared to give up a good deal of your time once you start watching. Excellent dvd and something i would recommend owning.
