This album is just awesome. I have only bought it because my 20 year old copy is knackered. Rush are the legendary canadian rock band who have been going since Noah set sail and to my mind, if you only ever buy one Rush album, it has to be this one. Completely original concept of a story in music, the likes of which you have never heard. Stunning musicianship, differant yet satisfying vocal performance. The sort of album that when you put it in your cd player, stays there for weeks cause you will just want to liten to it time and time again. Treat yourself, you ARE worth it and so is this album.
To be honest this is a weak album over-all. But the epic 20 minute song 2112 is what makes this album, if the album had been this song and nothing else it would be remembered as one of the best album of the 70's. The title track is nothing short of perfect, it takes you through all forms of rock, from slow melodic ballad to the all out scratchy screams from a man with a voice that is the typical of rock bands of that period - god-like. The rest of the album is not necessarily bad it just is over-shadowed by the first track which you just want to play over and over. This album is definetly worth at least £10, do not miss out.
